The ATN Unreal Engine 5 Masterclass teaches how real-time environments are created for architectural visualisation. Led by Silvia Rueda, Founder of Understory Studio and former Head of Immersive Media at Heatherwick Studio, the course moves from model preparation and Datasmith workflows through to lighting, materials, cinematic sequencing, and advanced tools such as Nanite and Cesium.
Structured across 22 focused chapters, the masterclass demonstrates how highly detailed, immersive environments are built for architectural storytelling within professional studio settings. Emphasis is placed on workflows that balance visual quality with performance, enabling high-fidelity real-time outputs.
You will develop the ability to construct, manage, and present immersive environments, producing cinematic architectural visualisations that extend beyond traditional rendering workflows.

Silvia Rueda is the Founder and Creative Director of Understory Studio, a practice specialising in immersive architectural experiences through technologies such as VR, AR, Digital Twins, Unreal Engine 5, and Twinmotion. She previously worked as Head of Immersive Media at Heatherwick Studio, where she led advanced visualisation workflows on globally recognised projects, bringing extensive expertise in real-time and immersive design technologies.










In the first part of this masterclass, you will learn how to prepare, import, and set up your scene in Unreal Engine 5, establishing the foundation for immersive environments.

In the second half of this masterclass, you will develop and refine your scene, exploring lighting, composition, and workflows for producing high-quality visual output.
