Early-stage design often involves moving between multiple tools, workflows, and levels of detail. This workshop explores how computational design can create a connected ecosystem from urban masterplanning through to BIM-ready architectural floor plans, enabling faster iteration while maintaining control over project data.
Delivered by KPF and Finch, the workshop demonstrates how parametric workflows in Grasshopper can automate the generation of roads, urban blocks, greenery, building massing, and key planning metrics. Participants will learn how simple curve-based systems can be used to rapidly generate and evaluate design options, eliminating repetitive modelling tasks. Utilsing Finch, urban massing studies can be transformed into AI-assisted architectural floor plans.
By connecting urban design, computational modelling, AI-assisted planning, and BIM delivery into a clear workflow, the workshop demonstrates how teams can make better-informed decisions and accelerate early-stage design.
You will learn how to:
• Build parametric masterplanning workflows in Grasshopper
• Generate roads, blocks, greenery, and building massing automatically
• Export and manage planning data and project metrics
• Create AI-assisted floor plans using Finch
• Connect Rhino, Grasshopper, Finch, and Revit into a BIM-ready workflow

Architect/Customer Success Manager
Reuben is an Architect and Customer Success Manager from the UK, with over ten years’ experience delivering projects across a wide range of typologies, from housing developments to international sports venues. With an international perspective shaped by working across borders, he is committed to creating thoughtful, people-centred architecture and collaborates closely with fellow architects to transform complex briefs into clear, well-resolved buildings. Passionate about teaching and education, Reuben focuses on equipping architects with the tools and knowledge that enable better design, with a particular interest in technology and AI-enabled workflows that enhance creativity, improve outcomes and make architects’ working lives more rewarding.

Associate Principal
Michal Scigaj is an Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) in London, where he is a senior architect on large-scale, complex projects including high-rise towers, mixed-use masterplans, and aviation infrastructure.
Alongside his architectural role, Michal acts as a Computational Design Lead within the practice. He develops parametric systems not only to generate complex geometries, but more importantly to accelerate the production of building components, automate repetitive workflows, and enable rapid design iteration at scale. His interests extend into data interoperability, coding, and the development of tools that connect software platforms into cohesive, production-ready pipelines.
